How we work, and where we stop.

We give general information and settlement support. We do not give immigration assistance, and we do not charge for it. When a matter needs visa advice, we say so plainly and refer it to a registered migration agent, by name.

One file, three hands.

A migration matter usually touches three different parties. This slip shows who does each part, so you always know who is speaking to you and in what capacity.

Why visa advice must come from a registered agent.

In Australia, using knowledge of migration procedure to advise someone about a visa application, to prepare it, or to represent them to the Department is "immigration assistance" under the Migration Act 1958. A person who is not a registered migration agent, and is not in one of the small groups the Act exempts, must not give it.

Charging a fee for immigration assistance without being registered is a serious offence, punishable by up to 10 years' imprisonment. From 1 April 2026 the Migration Agents Regulations 2026 also allow infringement notices for giving unregistered immigration assistance; for offences from 1 July 2026 the notice is 12 penalty units, A$4,368.

Registration belongs to a person, not a business. The Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) registers individuals only, and there are no levels of registration. That is why we never describe Immi Worldwide as registered, and why Sukh Sandhu's MARN appears on this site only next to Sukh's own name.

Check before you trust anyone

  • Ask for the person's MARN and search it on the OMARA register. It takes under a minute.
  • Read the OMARA Consumer Guide, available in many languages.
  • Expect a written service agreement before you pay for any visa work.
  • Walk away from anyone who promises a visa, a faster decision or a special contact at the Department. The Department itself warns that such claims are false.

Other countries

We do not advise on the immigration law of Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, the United States or any other country, and the agent we refer to advises on Australian visas only. Each of those countries limits immigration advice to people licensed there, so you need a professional regulated in that country.
